COSTA MESA, Calif. — June 17, 2015BenQ America Corp., an internationally renowned provider of visual display solutions and the No. 1-selling projector brand powered by TI DLP® technology in The Americas(1), today announced that its first sRGB Colorific™ projector, the HC1200, was selected as having the best overall picture quality in a three-way color comparison survey at Insight Media’s annual Display Summit conference, just prior to InfoComm 2015. Attendees were asked to complete surveys after viewing three projectors set up side-by-side alongside a reference monitor. The HC1200 claimed the top spot in the projection survey, winning six out of seven categories, including "Best Overall" picture.

All three lamp-based projectors were shown with the same sized images on identical matte white screens. The projectors were brand new and set up directly out-of-the-box. Only the image quality mode was adjusted; the setting was changed for best color performance on each model. The projectors were unmarked and only their individual specifications — ANSI lumens, resolution, contrast, and DLP/LCD technology — were made available to the more than 30 attendees taking the survey.

“In addition to having the best overall picture, the HC1200 was recognized as having the most accurate color and the best contrast,” said Felix Pimentel, Senior Product Marketing Manager at BenQ America Corp. “Despite the projector being slightly edged out for top honors on overall brightness, we are very happy with the results as the HC1200 was up against products with 30-percent higher brightness specifications.”

The HC1200 is the company’s first 100-percent sRGB projector; it was compared to other top-selling LCD and DLP projectors with 3700 lumens and 3800 lumens of brightness. Because the projector was designed with color accuracy and contrast in mind, survey respondents were able to see and appreciate its winning performance in color accuracy, flesh tones, white point, black level, contrast, and overall image quality.

The HC1200 combines precise sRGB color accuracy with up to twice as much ANSI contrast than typical LCD projectors — reproducing images that look as bright as top-selling 4,000 lumen projectors — and offering incredible color fidelity and consistency. This stunning, crisp contrast accentuates finer details for greater clarity, allowing visuals projected from the HC1200 to virtually jump off the screen. Like all BenQ projectors, the HC1200 will also continue to display accurate colors for years to come without the risk of fading, ghosting, or yellowing.

BenQ is currently exhibiting the HC1200 along with several other new sRGB projectors this week at InfoComm 2015 in Orlando. For more information on survey results and BenQ products, please stop by the BenQ booth 2758 or visit www.BenQ.us.
