How to Connect an Android Phone to Projector Wirelessly?

If you have an Android phone, such as a Samsung Galaxy or one of those new Lenovo tablets, you can easily use them stream your content on a larger display in a meeting. Depending on which InstaShow unit you have, you have multiple ways to stress-free connect your device to a meeting room TV or projector wirelessly.

InstaShow WDC-10

The easiest way to connect your Android phone or tablet wirelessly is with the new USB-C button that is now available for any InstaShow WDC-10 receiver. The button plugs into your USB-C port on your phone. Your phone will see this as a separate display, and go into desktop mode. Then, select screen sharing, and your device will begin mirroring either the whole screen – or go into desktop mode to enable you to share specific windows.

Alternatively, you can also use a USB-C to HDMI adapter to connect to the HDMI InstaShow button. These buttons may require you to separately power the button via a cell phone charger or other USB power source.

InstaShow S WDC-20

The InstaShow S has multiple ways to enable you to connect your Android device to a display wirelessly:

1. Just like the InstaShow, you can connect a USB-C or HDMI button to your device – then tap and present.

2. Alternatively, the InstaShow S also offers the ability to connect via the InstaShare app. This is especially convenient for those who want to connect a phone to TV or projector wirelessly. You can download the app directly from the QR code on display, or via Google Play. Then open the app and join the InstaShow network on the screen (with the password down below it), and you are set. You will see icons on the right that enable you to share photos, videos, or activate your camera – making it an easy way to use your phone as a document camera during a presentation – or mirror your screen.

The app also has a button to enable you to enable up to four different people to present on the screen at the same time (quad split-screen). Just press the “Turn on Quad Split Screen” button on the app – and your display will start adding presenters as they log in from their phones, tablets, notebooks, and even Linux development boards.
